How did we get started?

Bee A Blessing Farm was founded in 2018 after the Flohr family moved from our home of 18 years in the East Berlin, PA area. Our small herd of cattle and three horses outgrew our location and if growth were going to continue a new home needed to be found. After looking for three years at different locations this farm became available and with a lot of work and determination was purchased 6 months after we first toured the beautiful snow covered fields, woods, a 200 year old barn and home. The barn was in dire need of repair and the home needed gutted and restored. New out buildings needed to be setup and the fields needed fenced in for the animals. It has been a very rewarding labor of love. We continue this process as we have time and money, attempting to do as much as we can by ourselves. Since the beginning we have realized how blessed we are to be here and have made it a goal to give back. We have tried to help anyone we can with what we have produced and continue to do this as we are able. Tammy has loved cows since she was a teenager and started with one Holstein and one Jersey cow purchased for our kids to participate in 4H. We now average 35 to 40 head of cattle every year and raise a few hogs and chickens as well for meat and eggs. Highland cattle have been a dream of Tammy’s for several years and finding ones available proved to be a challenge, but in the spring of 2024 a heifer calf named Penelope and a bull calf named Gus were found and purchased. Sharing what we have and helping others has always been a priority and allowing others to enjoy these kind and affectionate animals is a way to do just that. The Highland breed of cattle is in a category all of their own from their small stature and curious habits to their love for affection and attention makes them the perfect cow to enjoy, relax and connect with, helping you forget your worries of the day. So welcome to Bee A Blessing Farm and Loving Cows Cuddling. May you enjoy your visit and may it be a relaxing, renewing experience.
